God has not two hands only, as do you and I;
He uses many hands to bring His provision by.

To some He gives help, He also heals; On some He inflicts pain;
But pain inflicted is healed again giving us the greater gain.

Calamity bursts upon us, and darkness seems to reign;
And He holds back His hands of love ‘til abiding faith we regain.

When weak in body, or in soul, fear weakens us the more;
He touches us tenderly with a hand, and faith begins to soar.

Jesus’ command to search the Scripture tells us that we must examine, seek, inquire, and investigate, every word in the Word of God. As we discovered last month, this means that we must go far beyond our cursory readings and quick scans. Otherwise, we will never understand God’s will for ourselves and humanity. Furthermore, this is a vital requirement for every Christian because we are members of God’s royal priesthood (see 1 Peter 2:9). As such, it is incumbent upon us (every believer) to read, study, to get understanding, and give it to others.

“Do you read your Bible?” This is a question often asked by pastors and others holding ecclesiastical positions within the Body of Christ. Before we ask this, we should determine whether it is a legitimate question? Does Holy Scripture suggest, encourage, or even command that you read your Bible?
