The Bible speaks to us but the Psalms speak for us. Are you in a crisis right now? Have doubt, stress, and anxious and fearful thoughts been going through your mind? Psalm 13:2 says, “How long must I wrestle with these thoughts and this sorrow in my heart?” Just as lancing a boil is necessary first to healing, facing truth is the first step toward becoming whole. Those who grow through a crisis learn which hopes, dreams, and expectation are really important. At first you may feel things will never be the same again. That is normal.

The Bible speaks to us but the Psalms speak for us. Anxiety is the enemy of a peaceful life.

The Bible speaks to us but the Psalms speak for us. Psalm 63:1 says, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;” Do you seek the Lord with all your heart? Do you thirst for Him as the deer pants for the water brooks? To make yourself at home in God’s presence and His love, we must: (1) Give Him the first part of your day. We must put Jesus first place in our lives. (2) We need to love His Word.

The Bible speaks to us but the Psalms speak for us. Are you lonely? Are you a single mom with children? Have you just lost your spouse? Is your savings gone? Do you work so much you have no friends? The Lord desires that all people feel connected to Him and to each other. There are three things you can do to help those feelings of loneliness. The first step is to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Lord wants to fellowship with us. The love of Jesus will help to ease the pain of loneliness. The second thing is to admit you are lonely.

The Bible speaks to us but the Psalms speak for us. Psalm 51:1 says, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation.” You might be surprised that Psalm 51, David’s well known confession of adultery with Bathsheba, is full of joy. It teaches lessons about sin, repentance, and getting our hearts right with God. Is your heart right with God? Is your fellowship with Jesus full of love and joy? In this Psalm, David prayed for his relationship with God to be restored. He had sinned and only God could give him a clean heart.

The Bible speaks to us, but the Psalms speak for us. Psalm 39:1 says, “I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.” We all jump to conclusion at times. When John D. Rockefeller ran the Standard Oil Company one of his senior executives made a mistake that cost millions of dollars. Before he called the man in, he sat down, took a notepad, and wrote down the positive points to this man.
