May is Children’s Home Month within the OFWB denomination. There are many events going on during the month. During this month the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home will celebrate 92 years of Christian childcare.

Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit during the early 1900s, Original Free Will Baptists sought to establish a home for orphaned children. This vision became reality on May 23, 1920, when the first children, a family of four, were admitted to the Home.

At times during the early years, especially during the great depression, it was quite a struggle to keep the doors of the Home open. Through the determination and dedication of the Home’s staff, along with assistance from churches across the state and local community members, the Home was able to withstand the economic struggles and remain open.

Lives continue to be changed in a positive way, as we remain committed to our mission and our purpose to restore a child’s faith in himself, God, and his world.
