May is Children’s Home Month within the OFWB denomination. There are many events going on during the month. During this month the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home will celebrate 92 years of Christian childcare.

Lent, Holy Week, and Easter, what a wonderful season of the Christian’s year. At the Children’s Home this year, our remembrance and celebrations began on Ash Wednesday.

The renovation to Memorial Chapel is now complete.

On February 18, the children here were treated to a demonstration of strength. Eternal Collision, a group from Washington, NC visited The Home.

As soon as the school buses stopped at The Home on the afternoon of February 14, the children hurried into the cottages. They were anticipating a Valentine Social to be held on campus just for them.

It is not just an ordinary day when you can take your lunch break at your workplace and have the opportunity to join with other staff in open Christian devotion. It’s extraordinary! We began February 22 and gather each Wednesday in the conference room and share devotion. These special devotions are in observance of Lent and will continue up through Holy Week. They were organized by our Director of Church Ministry, Dianne Riley. All staff members were invited to attend. These devotions are in addition to our Staff worship services.

Be on the look out! The first letter for our “Change For Children Campaign” will be mailed to your church officers and pastors the week of March 15, 2012. If you need to update contact or mailing information, please contact the Development Office at (252) 235-6507.

Faith Fountain is only eight years old yet she prays for the Children’s Home every night in her prayers. Faith came to visit back in the fall with her church, Bethlehem FWB, Fountaintown and has been a faithful supporter of The Home ever since.

On Sunday, January 8, as part of the weekly worship service at Memorial Chapel there was a baptismal service. The Rev.
