Back in February of 1977, a small group of people met in a home with the vision of beginning a new church on the west side of Kinston. On Sunday, March 6, 1977, with 29 people, Westside Original Free Will Baptist Church was born.

Charles and Dorothy Wood of Pine Level celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, March 24, 2012 with a reception at Holt Lake Bar-B-Que and Seafood in Smithfield, NC. The hosts of the celebration were the couples’ children, Ms.

The Rev. Richard Whitman, pastor of Smyrna Church in the Meadow community (Cape Fear Conference) chose his topic for the February 26 sermon, “The Greatest Roundup” closing Sunday School Awareness Month.

On Sunday March 4, the members of Free Union Church in Pinetown, NC hosted a reception honoring Mrs. Betty Whitley and Mr. Charlie Keech for their many years of service to the church, the community, and their Lord.

What better way to start a new year than to honor dedicated Sunday School members. That is what happened on New Year’s Day at Smith’s New Home.

Little Creek Woman’s Auxiliary presented a life membership award to Amy Cameron Stokes for her dedication and service to the auxiliary. Making the presentation is Hagar Jackson, auxiliary president.

Little Creek Church celebrated Sunday School Month in February with a variety of activities. At the beginning of the month, everyone drew a name to select a “secret valentine.”

On Sunday, March 4, 2012, the Woman’s Auxiliary at New Sandy Hill hosted a meet and greet for their new pastor, Scott Casey. Judy Hinton, auxiliary program chair/activities coordinator, gave introductions and opening prayer.

Edgewood Original Free Will Baptist Church is located in rural Edgecombe County at 680 Edgewood Church Road, about 3 miles East of Hwy 258 or 2 miles west of Hwy 43. We are a small church with a big heart for Christ and for one another.
